Undertone
Everything in their world, pointless.
Everyone in their world, lost.
Grifting, was the standard,
The Forgotten bore the cost.
Hopelessness, that heavy cloud.
His dwellers knew him well.
Loathingness, their master.
And Fear, their welcomed hell.
That was until they went outside,
And lungs absorbed the air.
Slamming doors behind them,
Desire defeats despair.
If wind had taught them anything,
It’s all things come and go,
But for the world’s untarnished truth:
This, life’s Hopeful Undertone.
